Kristin Ficklin, LCSW

Kristin’s journey into the mental health field began after her meaningful experience working with high-needs foster youth—an experience that inspired her to dedicate her career to promoting healing, growth, and resilience. She earned her undergraduate degree from a California State University and went on to complete her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Southern California (USC).
Kristin began her professional work at the YWCA within the WINGS program, where she provided compassionate support and advocacy for both youth and adult survivors of domestic violence. She later expanded her expertise into substance use treatment, serving as a drug court clinician and providing counseling services for individuals on their recovery journeys. In addition, Kristin has valuable experience working within elementary school settings while supporting children and families through a variety of challenges.
Currently, Kristin’s clinical focus includes working with individuals navigating complex trauma, depression, and anxiety. She is EMDR certified and has received advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) through the Beck Institute.
Outside of her professional work, Kristin is a proud mother of three who deeply values family and community. She enjoys traveling and spending time on her small but growing farm, where she finds joy in caring for her animals and watching her children appreciate life’s simple pleasures.
Kristin’s therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect. She meets each client where they are, moves at their pace, and tailors treatment to meet their individual needs. Kristin believes every client is unique—and their therapy experience should be, too.
